Virtual Ribosome is a JavaScript tool
that translates nucleotide sequences into peptides and calculates characteristics
of the resulting peptides, including amino acid composition, molecular weight,
and isoelectric point. This software is covered by GNU
Public License. Make sure that JavaScript is enabled in your browser settings.
Unfortunately, not all browesrs support JavaScript equally well, so test whether
Virtual Ribosome works under your browser.

Primer3
for primer design. After designing primers do not forget to BLAST them against
human genome, mouse genome, or microbial genomes, depending on the species
you are working with, to make sure that your primers are truly specific. Go
to BLAST
page and use genomic BLAST pages.
Beacon
Designer Free Edition for free online analysis tool for real time qPCR.
Can be used to screen SYBR® Green primers and TaqMan® probes for possible
secondary structures such as dimers or hairpins. The Beacon Designer Free
Edition also has a sequence analysis function that displays nucleotide sequence
properties. When one enters any nucleotide sequence, the program displays
the reverse, complement and the reverse complement sequence. The program also
displays the GC%, runs and repeats dG along with their structure and will
convert any unidentified base (other than A,T,G and C) to N.
